Two Songs
2012
two compositions
viola and electronics

Two short works for viola and electronics completed in early summer 2012. In 2006, after learning that I would be moving to Los Angeles, I saw an exposition on LA art at the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris. I immediately became fascinated with the idea of creating an "LA Finish" for sound, mimicking the surface aesthetics of LA artists like larry bell and john  mccracken. While living in LA I came in contact with LA punk/noise bands abe vigoda and no age that provided a direction towards an agressively ressonant and distorted finish that inspired these two works.

scores and electronic patches available upon request.
